Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them.

Jesus then took the , gave thanks, and those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his , "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted."

So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five left over by those who had eaten.
他们便将那五个大麦饼的零碎，就是众人吃了剩下的，收拾起来，装满了十二个篮子。

After the people saw the sign that Jesus did, they began to say, "Surely this is who is to come into the world."
众人看见耶稣所行的神迹，就说：“这真是那要到世间来的先知。”

Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.

The next day the crowd that had stayed shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his , but that they had gone away alone.

So they asked him, "What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.
因为我从天上降下来，不是要按自己的意思行，乃是要按那差我来者的意思行。

And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.
差我来者的意思就是：他所赐给我的，叫我一个也不失落，在末日却叫他复活。

For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have , ."

Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
