But they replied, "We do not drink wine, because our son of Recab gave us this command:'Neither you nor your must ever drink wine.

耶35:7
Also you must never build houses, seed or plant ; you must never have any of these things, but must always live in tents. Then you will live a long time in the land where you are .'
也不可盖房、撒种、栽种葡萄园，但一生的年日要住帐棚，使你们的日子在寄居之地得以延长。'
耶35:8
We have everything our son of Recab commanded us. Neither we nor our wives nor our sons and daughters have ever drunk wine
凡我们先祖利甲的儿子约拿达所吩咐我们的话，我们都听从了。我们和我们的妻子儿女，一生的年日都不喝酒，
耶35:9
or built houses to live in or had , fields or crops.
也不盖房居住，也没有葡萄园、田地和种子，
耶35:10
We have lived in tents and have fully everything our commanded us.

耶35:14
'Jonadab son of Recab ordered his sons not wine and this command has been kept. To this day they do not drink wine, because they their forefather's command. But I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not me.
利甲的儿子约拿达所吩咐他子孙不可喝酒的话，他们已经遵守，直到今日也不喝酒，因为他们听从先祖的吩咐。我从早起来警戒你们，你们却不听从我。
耶35:15
Again and again I sent all my servants to you. They said, "Each of you must turn from your ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your fathers." But you have not paid attention or listened to me.
我从早起来差遣我的仆人众先知去说：你们各人当回头，离开恶道，改正行为，不随从事奉别 神，就必住在我所赐给你们和你们列祖的地上。只是你们没有听从我，也没有侧耳而听。
耶35:16
The of son of Recab have carried out the command their gave them, but these people have not me.'
利甲的儿子约拿达的子孙，能遵守先人所吩咐他们的命，这百姓却没有听从我！'
耶35:17
"Therefore, this is what the LORD , , says:'Listen! I am going to bring on and on everyone living in every disaster I them. I spoke to them, but they did not listen; I called to them, but they did not answer.'"
