赛38:1
In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
那时，希西家病得要死。亚摩斯的儿子先知以赛亚去见他，对他说：“耶和华如此说：你当留遗命与你的家，因为你必死，不能活了。”


赛38:2
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,
希西家就转脸朝墙，祷告耶和华说：


赛38:3
"Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
“耶和华啊，求你记念我在你面前怎样存完全的心，按诚实行事，又做你眼中所看为善的。”希西家就痛哭了。


赛38:4
Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah:
耶和华的话临到以赛亚说：


赛38:5
"Go and tell Hezekiah,'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.
“你去告诉希西家说：'耶和华你祖大卫的 神如此说：我听见了你的祷告，看见了你的眼泪。我必加增你十五年的寿数；


赛38:6
And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.
并且我要救你和这城脱离亚述王的手，也要保护这城。


赛38:7
"'This is the LORD'S sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised:
我耶和华必成就我所说的，我先给你一个兆头，


赛38:8
I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.'" So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.
就是叫亚哈斯的日晷，向前进的日影往后退十度。'”于是，前进的日影果然在日晷上往后退了十度。

犹大王希西家患病已经痊愈，就作诗说：


赛38:10
I said, "In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years?"
我说：“正在我中年（或作“晌午”）之日，必进入阴间的门；我余剩的年岁不得享受。”


赛38:11
I said, "I will not again see the LORD, the LORD, in the land of the living; no longer will I look on mankind, or be with those who now dwell in this world.
我说：“我必不得见耶和华，就是在活人之地不见耶和华；我与世上的居民不再见面。


赛38:12
Like a shepherd's tent my house has been pulled down and taken from me. Like a weaver I have rolled up my life, and he has cut me off from the loom; day and night you made an end of me.
我的住处被迁去离开我，好像牧人的帐棚一样；我将性命卷起，像织布的卷布一样。耶和华必将我从机头剪断，从早到晚，他要使我完结。


赛38:13
I waited patiently till dawn, but like a lion he broke all my bones; day and night you made an end of me.
我使自己安静，直到天亮；他像狮子折断我一切的骨头，从早到晚，他要使我完结。


赛38:14
I cried like a swift or thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens. I am troubled; O Lord, come to my aid!"
我像燕子呢喃，像白鹤鸣叫，又像鸽子哀鸣；我因仰观，眼睛困倦。耶和华啊，我受欺压，求你为我作保。”


赛38:15
But what can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul.
我可说什么呢？他应许我的，也给我成就了。我因心里的苦楚，在一生的年日必悄悄而行。


赛38:16
Lord, by such things men live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live.
主啊，人得存活，乃在乎此；我灵存活，也全在此。所以，求你使我痊愈，仍然存活。


赛38:17
Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.
看哪，我受大苦，本为使我得平安；你因爱我的灵魂（或作“生命”），便救我脱离败坏的坑，因为你将我一切的罪扔在你的背后。


赛38:18
For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.
原来阴间不能称谢你，死亡不能颂扬你，下坑的人不能盼望你的诚实。


赛38:19
The living, the living -- they praise you, as I am doing today; fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.
只有活人，活人必称谢你，像我今日称谢你一样。为父的，必使儿女知道你的诚实。


赛38:20
The LORD will save me, and we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the LORD.
耶和华肯救我，所以我们要一生一世，在耶和华殿中，用丝弦的乐器唱我的诗歌。


赛38:21
Isaiah had said, "Prepare a poultice of figs and apply it to the boil, and he will recover."
以赛亚说：“当取一块无花果饼来，贴在疮上，王必痊愈。”


赛38:22
Hezekiah had asked, "What will be the sign that I will go up to the temple of the LORD?"
希西家问说：“我能上耶和华的殿，有什么兆头呢？”
