Now Adoni-Zedek king of heard that had taken Ai and totally destroyed it, doing to Ai and its king as he had done to and its king, and that the people of had made a treaty of peace with Israel and were living near them.

Then the five kings of the -- the kings of , , , and -- joined forces. They moved up with all their troops and took up positions against and attacked it.

The LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great victory at . Israel pursued them along the road going up to and cut them down all the way to and Makkedah.

On the day the LORD gave the over to Israel, Joshua said to the LORD in the presence of Israel: "O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon."
当耶和华将亚摩利人交付以色列人的日子，约书亚就祷告耶和华，在以色列人眼前说：“日头啊，你要停在基遍；月亮啊，你要止在亚雅仑谷。”
书10:13
So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.
于是日头停留，月亮止住，直等国民向敌人报仇。这事岂不是写在雅煞珥书上吗？日头在天当中停住，不急速下落，约有一日之久。

There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the LORD listened to a man. Surely the LORD was fighting for Israel!
在这日以前，这日以后，耶和华听人的祷告，没有像这日的，是因耶和华为以色列争战。
书10:15
Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at .
约书亚和以色列众人回到吉甲的营中。
书10:16
Now the five kings had in the cave at Makkedah.
那五王逃跑，藏在玛基大洞里。
书10:17
When Joshua was told that the five kings had been found hiding in the cave at Makkedah,
有人告诉约书亚说：“那五王已经找到了，都藏在玛基大洞里。”
书10:18
he said, "Roll large rocks up to the mouth of the cave, and post some men there to guard it.
约书亚说：“你们把几块大石头滚到洞口，派人看守。

But don't stop! Pursue your enemies, attack them from and don't let them reach their cities, for the LORD your God has given them into your hand."
你们却不可耽延，要追赶你们的仇敌，击杀他们尽后边的人，不容他们进自己的城邑，因为耶和华你们的 神已经把他们交在你们手里。”
书10:20
So Joshua and the destroyed them completely -- almost to a man -- but the few who were left reached their cities.
约书亚和以色列人大大杀败他们，直到将他们灭尽，其中剩下的人都进了坚固的城。

The whole army then returned safely to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah, and no one a word against the .

Joshua said, "Open the mouth of the cave and bring those five kings out to me."

When they had brought these kings to Joshua, he all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had come with him, "Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings." So they came forward and placed their feet on their necks.
带出那五王到约书亚面前的时候，约书亚就召了以色列众人来，对那些和他同去的军长说：“你们近前来，把脚踏在这些王的颈项上。”他们就近前来，把脚踏在这些王的颈项上。

Joshua said to them, "Do not be afraid; do not be . Be strong and . This is what the LORD will do to all the enemies you are going to fight."
约书亚对他们说：“你们不要惧怕，也不要惊惶，应当刚强壮胆。因为耶和华必这样待你们所要攻打的一切仇敌。”

Then Joshua struck and killed the kings and hung them on five trees, and they were left hanging on the trees until evening.
随后约书亚将这五王杀死，挂在五棵树上。他们就在树上直挂到晚上。

Joshua gave the order and they took them down from the trees and threw them into the cave where they had been hiding. At the mouth of the cave they placed large rocks, which are there to this day.

That day Joshua took Makkedah. He put the city and its king to and totally destroyed everyone in it. He left no survivors. And he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of .
当日，约书亚夺了玛基大，用刀击杀城中的人和王，将其中一切人口尽行杀灭，没有留下一个。他待玛基大王像从前待耶利哥王一样。

Then Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Makkedah to and attacked it.

The LORD also gave that city and its king into Israel's hand. The city and everyone in it Joshua . He left no survivors there. And he did to its king as he had done to the king of .

Then Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from to ; he took up positions against it and attacked it.

The LORD handed over to Israel, and Joshua took it on the second day. The city and everyone in it he , just as he had done to .

They took the city and put it to , together with its king, its villages and everyone in it. They left no survivors. Just as at Eglon, they totally destroyed it and everyone in it.

Then Joshua and all Israel with him turned around and attacked .

So Joshua the whole region, including the hill country, the , the western and the , together with all their kings. He left no survivors. He totally destroyed all who breathed, just as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded.
这样，约书亚击杀全地的人，就是山地、南地、高原、山坡的人，和那些地的诸王，没有留下一个。将凡有气息的尽行杀灭，正如耶和华以色列的 神所吩咐的。
