创39:6

波提乏将一切所有的都交在约瑟的手中，除了自己所吃的饭，别的事一概不知。约瑟原来秀雅俊美。
创39:7
and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"
这事以后，约瑟主人的妻，以目送情给约瑟说：“你与我同寝吧！”
创39:8
But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has my care.
约瑟不从，对他主人的妻说：“看哪！一切家务我主人都不知道，他把所有的都交在我手里。
创39:9
No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a thing and God?"
在这家里没有比我大的，并且他没有留下一样不交给我，只留下了你，因为你是他的妻子。我怎能作这大恶，得罪 神呢？”
创39:10
And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.

有一天，约瑟进屋里去办事，家中人没有一个在那屋里，

妇人就拉住他的衣裳说：“你与我同寝吧！”约瑟把衣裳丢在妇人手里，跑到外边去了。
创39:13

妇人看见约瑟把衣裳丢在她手里跑出去了，
创39:14
she called her household servants. "Look," she said to them, "this has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.
就叫了家里的人来，对他们说：“你们看！他带了一个希伯来人进入我们家里，要戏弄我们。他到我这里来，要与我同寝，我就大声喊叫。
创39:15
When he heard me scream for help, he left his beside me and ran out of the house."
他听见我放声喊起来，就把衣裳丢在我这里，跑到外边去了。”
创39:16
She kept his beside her until his master came home.
妇人把约瑟的衣裳放在自己那里，等着他主人回家，
创39:17
Then she told him this story: "That slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.
就对他如此如此说：“你所带到我们这里的那希伯来仆人进来要戏弄我，
创39:18
But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."
我放声喊起来，他就把衣裳丢在我这里跑出去了。”
创39:19
When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, "This is how your slave treated me," he burned with anger.
约瑟的主人听见他妻子对他所说的话说：“你的仆人如此如此待我”，他就生气，
创39:20
Joseph's master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison,
把约瑟下在监里，就是王的囚犯被囚的地方。于是约瑟在那里坐监。
创39:21
the LORD was with him; he showed him and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison .
但耶和华与约瑟同在，向他施恩，使他在司狱的眼前蒙恩。
创39:22
So the put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.
司狱就把监里所有的囚犯都交在约瑟的手下，他们在那里所办的事都是经他的手。
创39:23
The paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
凡在约瑟手下的事，司狱一概不察，因为耶和华与约瑟同在，耶和华使他所作的尽都顺利。
