Then all the captains of the forces, and the son of , and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even the greatest, came near,

耶42:2

耶42:3

愿耶和华你的 神指示我们所当走的路，所当做的事。”
耶42:4
Then said them, I have heard you; , I will pray the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.
先知耶利米对他们说：“我已经听见你们了，我必照着你们的话祷告耶和华你们的 神。耶和华无论回答什么，我必都告诉你们，毫不隐瞒。”
耶42:5
Then they said to , The LORD be a true and witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD God shall send to us.

耶42:6
Whether it be good, or whether it , we will the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send ; that it may be well with us, when we the voice of the LORD our God.
我们现在请你到耶和华我们的 神面前，他说的无论是好是歹，我们都必听从！我们听从耶和华我们 神的话，就可以得福。”
耶42:7
And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto .
过了十天，耶和华的话临到耶利米。
耶42:8
Then called he the son of , and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,
他就将加利亚的儿子约哈难和同着他的众军长并众百姓，从最小的到至大的都叫了来，
耶42:9
And said unto them, Thus the LORD, , unto whom ye sent me to present your before him;
对他们说：“耶和华以色列的 神，就是你们请我在他面前为你们祈求的主，如此说：
耶42:10
If ye will still this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not you up: for I me of that I have you.
'你们若仍住在这地，我就建立你们，必不拆毁；栽植你们，并不拔出，因我为降与你们的灾祸后悔了。
耶42:11
Be not afraid of the king of , of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.
不要怕你们所怕的巴比伦王。耶和华说，不要怕他，因为我与你们同在，要拯救你们脱离他的手。
耶42:12
And I will unto you, that he may you, and cause you to return to your own land.
我也要使他发怜悯，好怜悯你们，叫你们归回本地。'
耶42:13
But if ye say, We will not this land, neither the voice of the LORD your God,
倘若你们说：'我们不住在这地'，以致不听从耶和华你们 神的话，
耶42:14
Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the , nor have of bread; and there will we :
说：'我们不住这地，却要进入埃及地，在那里看不见争战，听不见角声，也不至无食饥饿。我们必住在那里。'
耶42:15
And now therefore hear the word of the LORD, ye of ; Thus the LORD of hosts, ; If ye wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to there;
你们所剩下的犹大人哪，现在要听耶和华的话！万军之耶和华以色列的 神如此说：'你们若定意要进入埃及，在那里寄居，
耶42:16
Then it shall come to pass, that , which ye feared, shall you there in the land of Egypt, and the , ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.
你们所惧怕的刀剑，在埃及地必追上你们！你们所惧怕的饥荒在埃及要紧紧地跟随你们！你们必死在那里！
耶42:17
So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to there; they shall die , by the , and by the : and none of them shall remain or escape from that I will bring upon them.
凡定意要进入埃及在那里寄居的，必遭刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫而死，无一人存留，逃脱我所降与他们的灾祸。'
耶42:18
For thus the LORD of hosts, ; As mine anger and my been poured forth upon the of ; so shall my be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an , and an , and a , and a ; and ye shall see this place no more.
万军之耶和华以色列的 神如此说：'我怎样将我的怒气和忿怒倾在耶路撒冷的居民身上，你们进入埃及的时候，我也必照样将我的忿怒倾在你们身上，以致你们令人辱骂、惊骇、咒诅、羞辱，你们不得再见这地方。'
耶42:19
The LORD said concerning you, O ye of ; Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have you this day.
所剩下的犹大人哪，耶和华论到你们说：'不要进入埃及去！'你们要确实地知道我今日警教你们了。
耶42:20
For ye in your hearts, when ye sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.
你们行诡诈自害，因为你们请我到耶和华你们的 神那里说：'求你为我们祷告耶和华我们 神，照耶和华我们的 神一切所说的告诉我们，我们就必遵行。'
耶42:21
And now I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he sent me unto you.
我今日将这话告诉你们，耶和华你们的 神为你们的事，差遣我到你们那里说的，你们却一样没有听从。
耶42:22
Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die , by the , and by the , in the place ye desire to go and to .
现在你们要确实地知道，你们在所要去寄居之地必遭刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫而死。”
