赛31:1
to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in , because they are many; and in , because they are very strong; but they look not the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
祸哉！那些下埃及求帮助的，是因仗赖马匹，倚靠甚多的车辆，并倚靠强壮的马兵，却不仰望以色列的圣者，也不求问耶和华。

其实耶和华有智慧，他必降灾祸，并不反悔自己的话，却要兴起攻击那作恶之家，又攻击那作孽帮助人的。
赛31:3
Now the are men, and not God; and their , and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that shall fall, and he that is shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
埃及人不过是人，并不是 神；他们的马不过是血肉，并不是灵。耶和华一伸手，那帮助人的必绊跌；那受帮助的也必跌倒，都一同灭亡。
赛31:4
For thus the LORD spoken me, Like as and the young lion his , when is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for , and for the hill .
耶和华对我如此说：“狮子和少壮狮子护食咆哮，就是喊许多牧人来攻击它，它总不因他们的声音惊惶，也不因他们的喧哗缩伏。如此，万军之耶和华也必降临在锡安山冈上争战。
赛31:5
As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend ; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
雀鸟怎样扇翅覆雏，万军之耶和华也要照样保护耶路撒冷，他必保护拯救，要越门保守。”
赛31:6
Turn ye him from whom the children of Israel have deeply .
以色列人哪，你们深深地悖逆耶和华，现今要归向他。
赛31:7
For in that day every man shall cast away his of silver, and his of gold, which your own hands have made you for .
到那日，各人必将他金偶像、银偶像，就是亲手所造、陷自己在罪中的，都抛弃了。
赛31:8
Then shall the fall with , not of a man; and , not of a mean man, shall him: but he shall , and his young men shall be .
“亚述人必倒在刀下，并非人的刀；有刀要将他吞灭，并非人的刀。他必逃避这刀，他的少年人必成为服苦的。
赛31:9
And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the , the LORD, whose fire is in , and his in .
